The chill is leaving the air and the frost from the ground. As the sun shines and the rains fall, early spring flowers are beginning to peek through the soil.
I yearn for this: for the receding of the snow and the hints of new life in my garden. Every year when the snow is still just melting away for the last time, I am taken by surprise when I see crocus buds popping up. They offer hope that winter is yielding, giving way to growth.
Just like my garden’s blooms, I live for spring in my life, when new things are beginning or in seasons of change. This is a big year for me. Don’t ask me why; I’m not sure I have an answer. But I can tell you this:
This June, my husband and I will celebrate 7 years of marriage and our oldest will celebrate 5 journeys around the sun. Our second and third will turn 3 and 1, respectively, in September. I am finally digging my heels in with my photography, hence this beautiful site thanks to Cherith at Optical Lift. In the midst of these events and milestones, we are waiting. Waiting on a business we created to sell and reopen, a new job, and a direction to head in. The in between may not feel good, but I hope we are learning and changing in the ways we ought.
Through the adventure, I will be keeping my eyes and heart open to see what is happening. I hope to find cohesive and meaningful ways to express everything through pictures and words, whether prose or verse. Something is starting. Something is coming. Join me for the journey.
